My Faith
One summer, I made an eternal commitment to follow our Lord, Jesus Christ and his teachings.  After chasing fame, fortune, profits, happiness, etc. for 20 years, I found that, in spite of my worldly success (and I have had my share), I was not fulfilled.  There always seemed to be something more to achieve; there was an emptiness in my soul among the plenty of my life.  Then, July 13, 1996, I decided to trust Jesus for the rest of my life.  I asked Him to forgive my sins and lead me in a new direction.  He hasn't disappointed me.  To hear more of how my life has changed since the Holy Spirit entered it by the grace of God, click here.  If you don't have the same relationship with Christ, I encourage you to find out for yourself how you can personally witness a true miracle of God, in your own life.  Don't let others do your thinking for you -- discover for yourself how you can live the greatest adventure of all time and how you can make an everlasting Peace with God.

My Family
For more than half of my life, God has blessed me with a wonderful marriage to my high-school sweetheart.  And yes, she is still my sweetheart, more now than ever! We've been blessed with two smart, handsome, sons (now young adults) and a real "drop of sunshine" in our young daughter.  God is working in all of our lives and I marvel at his grace every day.  I don't know what I ever did to deserve such a family, but I thank Him every day for the blessing of my family.

Music
Since I was young, I have enjoyed all kinds of music from Classical, Country, to Rock N Roll, from the 50's through the 90's.  As I have grown in my relationship with Jesus, I have learned that music is one of God's great gifts to us.  I now prefer to listen to music that glorifies our loving Father God, the Savior Son, and the Blessed Holy Spirit.  If you have never experienced Contemporary Christian Music, I encourage you to find a station in your area and just listen - for one week.  See if God's love and mercy will fill your soul as you listen.  (For the largest and best - in my opinion - Christian Radio Station in the world see: Houston's Contemporary Christian Music Station -- KSBJ broadcasts in many areas in east Texas, outside of Houston - and it is now available for listening through the world wide web.)

Serving Others
Christ said that through showing our love for others, "...all men will know you are my disciples".  I try my best to live up to that command from our Lord.  The next time you see a homeless person, don't turn a deaf ear or a blind eye -- give them at least a smile and a word of encouragement; and, if you can, help them by giving them a few dollars, something to eat or drink, or share your used items with them.  Best of all, give them encouragement from the Word of God.

I have learned that Christ's Love is not a "feeling" or emotion (although emotion may sometimes be involved).  Christ's Love is the exercise of our Will to expend something of ourselves (prayer, time, effort, money, possessions, humility, etc.) for the physical, mental, or spiritual well-being of another.  Christ gave us the greatest example of Love by willingly sacrificing His perfect life on the Cross for all us sinners.  When we sacrifice something of ourselves to benefit another, we are giving our Love to that person.

As the apostle Paul wrote:

Love is Patient, love is Kind.
It does not Boast, it is not Proud.
It is not Rude, it is not Self-seeking,
It is not easily Angered, it keeps no record of Wrongs.
Love does not delight in Evil, but rejoices with the Truth.
It always Protects, always Trusts, always Hopes, always Perseveres.
Love does not Fail.

1st Corinthians, Chapter 13, NIV

I encourage you to Love every person that you see -- when you rise in the morning, when you travel the road ways, when you work, when you eat and drink, when you play, and when you retire.  Live a life of Christ's Love and receive Love, in return.

Computers
Making a living in computer technology lets me have the freedom in my schedule and the money that I need to fulfill my true love of serving others (above), and it supports my family.  If you have any interest in hiring an honest, hard-working, Christian designer/programmer on a contract basis, please drop me a line at David@Truncale.com.
